We could go on endlessly with the blame game, and what the Labour or Conservative Governments did or didn't do, depends on your ideological bent.
But these floods are over the top, floods are occurring where they haven't impacted before, the rainfall is history making and soul destroying, some people are being flooded out for the first time where they didn't expect to be. blaming this govt or that govt is not the answer; as all men have their failings.
Our thoughts are with the people who now have to start again some in their 90s.

Like the old saying Des when noting Protest on arrival at ones destination , and swearing on the Bible that any damage to the cargo was an Act of God. I sometimes crossed my fingers when doing so , just in case . JS

Des you are correct, all govs fail at times.
But this flood for Victoria is not new, 1974 was as bad according to those who experienced it.

The Maribynong river in Western Melbourne flooded just as it has now back in 1993.

Last Thursday we came back along that river at about 1430 hours.
It was looking normal, no flooding apparent.
By 1800 hours it was in full flood, made worse by a very high tide at that time.

Northern Victoria is made worse as three rivers converge almost at the same point, but it is begining to fall now.

Had to come back again today along the same stretch of river.
Mud all over the place, a major pile of good for disposal, but the river, lower n ow than last week!!
