I don't know if the world temps are different now as when I was a child; I am not a scientist, but I remember before the second World War we used to go down the Gower coast in Wales for holidays, and on one occasion everyone got burnt to hell, huge blisters on our backs and my Father saying I can't remember it ever being this hot before, the only time I got as severely burnt since was up the coast here, but that was because I feel asleep on the beach and my feet where outside the tent, took weeks to get over that one.

    Strange that Des
As i a entire diffeent part of the World many Years back now, i too fell asleep in the Hot Sun on Muizenberg Beach one day, and on getting home well mate i was so sore, all my back cracked open , oozing like Blood and water Mixed.
My dear Mum, took me straight into the Bathroom, Bathtub full of fairky warm water and lots of Vinigar in it, and into this i went!
Stung like hell for a while but seemed to calm it.
Took a few days though for the cracks to heal. Never again mate!

Similar thing happened to me on Margate beach, south coast of England, way back in about 1952 or so.

Have been burned here as well on a couple of occasions falling asleep on the beach , had to reduce the grog input after that.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
