So who is getting old then
The Importance of Walking
Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at £3000.00 per month.
My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.
I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.
The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again .
I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..
I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 Quid.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she?'
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,......
just getting over the hill.
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: So who is getting old then
Jeez, Johnno, I'm almost 86 and exercised all my life, dropped from running to jogging to now walking 3 miles a day...that just leaves me crawling or lost.
Bugger that. Rodders

Re: So who is getting old then
I joined a local swimming club yesterday online. Good deal no upfront fees apart £2.95 for my first seniors swim. Turned up today and the pool was empty, I mean empty.

Re: So who is getting old then
A week ago I thought I had broken my foot, went to the Drs yesterday, he asked if wanted an X-ray, I said not really, I don't like hospitals,
Today to put my wife off I said I am getting up these steps a lot easier now, "Good" she said, "You may not have to get an X-ray"
Never a good thing to deceive the wife.

Re: So who is getting old then
I manage 30 push ups each day, and then crawl away for my breakfast.
But we do a lot of walking during the week, Sunday not unusual for a 7 or 8 kilometer one.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: So who is getting old then
Now really Fellas
These days at near 83 i have stopped a lot of my Exercises , i do not Walk any longer, and i spend a heck of a lot of time here in my Chair on the Puter!
I do still play a bit of Golf, but that too has dwindled over the past Year.
However for all this i still feel and a lot say look a lot younger than my age!
I also feel good in myself, so dont know what i am doing , but its working! LOL
Think the last big Heart Op did the business for me, and put a new Zip in my life! Since then i have not opened that Zip!

Keeping the zip closed is all very well Vernon, but the time will come when you will have to open it or wet your pants. LOL

#7 Or just roll up the bottom of your trouser leg and let it all hang out , or is that wishful thinking also due to old age. John in Oz should have no problems as only wears shorts. JS.
