Re: Daywork
Hi Mo
I was the complete opposite, hated day work, loved steering, once did a week of 8 hours a day on the wheel while tank cleaning; just being relieved for meals, loved it, windows open, lovely breeze, watching the rest of the crew dragging Butterworth gear around, covered in shitty oil.

Re: Daywork
Oh yes and thinking back, there were the times that on waiting for a quick turnaround at Londons KG5 , i took on some extra work helping the Lads off loading Bags of Flour from the Lorries, onto Crates Dockside, which in turn were laoded onto Ships there.
So besides the leave pay which i still received ,up to 21 days on the Round Africa Runs, the extra came in handy too. But did not do that too often! The UCL Lads were always very flush with the cash! But guess so were many other Lads from various Lines!
Best of times though, if only one again!!!
Dream on Baby!!! LOL
