North sea oil and gas
it appears the government is pushing through as quickly as possible the opening of 6 more oil and gas fields....one rosebank off shetland also jackdaw...marigold...brodick ...catcher...and tolmount east ......sir steer calmer opposes this looking at the green side ...while it could open 20000more jobs .....perhaps a comment from jws on this statement may lighten the view on these oil and gas fields....as a matter of interest......regards cappy

#1. Cappy I’m just an ex worker the same as all the thousands of others in the industry. Business wise if the people in the know are ready to open these wells then it must be time to open them. They have probably been lying dormant for years until it was expense wise feasible to open them. I see no reason why they shouldn’t , they were invested in years ago for such time as practicable if that is now then it should be now, To raise the arguments against on the arguments of green headed idiots is probably just the usual political ploys and propoganda which most are used to , to promote their own self interest. My feelings are the groundwork has already been done , many have died since exploration started , and if it’s time to now gain the profits , then it’s time to go into production , especially as a side bonus the employment of so many. Re: North sea oil and gas
thanks for that statement john ...surely in the present state of affairs ie russia etc ....it is the time to use our own assets instead of the russian bear threatening to freeze us out......but looking at the political side ....labour wants us to freeze ourselves to death and not have a sword to wave ie our nuclear threat....R683532

Re: North sea oil and gas
If Russia does decide to move into the Ukraine which I think she may well do . It will be short and the country will be smothered in occupation troops. And probably all caused by fear of what either side will do. You have to look at the situation from both sides of the coin. Some of the media stories going out from the west will have to be considered partially responsible for the fear and their forecasts which will be ready assessable to them . The Russian media is state controlled so will not be sending out alarm signals to their own people and causing panic attacks. But most countries cannot hide the truth of what is happening as have the means today of common communications. All it takes is some know it all in the political world to set.the ball rolling. JS.

John, is not a case of the Dictator (Putin) needs something to divert the attention of the Russian populace from his owned failures.
So let's set a mock invasion of Ukraine.

Re: North sea oil and gas
a senior of russian generals......has spoken out against putin ..stating that there is no need whatsoever for the russian build up on the ukraine border ....and no threat has been made to russia except to retaliate .....and the kremlin would be better put to sought out the state of the russian people and shortages than waving a threat to nato and europe in general ...perhaps a sign of dissent against putin......cappy

Re: North sea oil and gas
One of the major problems for us in the West, is China, they have publicly backed Putin on many occasions, hinted they would buy his gas should the EU not buy. One of the BBC reporters that i do respect is Katya Adler, and she has an article on the Internet today, which in my opinion sums up the situation nicely. here is the post, which i find very interesting.

Re: North sea oil and gas
old mother shipton stated the greatest ever war ....will be between the bear and the dragon ....as they share borders and cannot but fall out at some stage i think this is very true ...anyway my gran who read the tea leaves also said the same ...she also stated in her tea leaves ....i would find my bread on water ....mind that was just after doing 11 months on a old BTC tanker....must say i struggled to understand what she meant ......but that may have been caused by a surfeit of alcohol .....after just paying off.....oh happy days

#9 My mother read tea leaves as well Cappy used to put the scares up me. My grandmother used to sit in the chair at seances , the biggest worry I had was when an old India Fakir in Goa said I would die before I was 36. Imagine how I felt until I reached 37. Still here , he was a faker alright . Cheers JS.
