    Des mate
Similar here Today and Yesterday , came down in Buckets, the Gutters all overflowing as so much Water they could not cope!
My Entire Decking (Never seen it before) flooded with Tons of Water runnung down into the back Yard!
This Weather is really getting worse each Year. These huge Rain Bombs we are getting of late, its terrible!
And they say we are in for a lot more this Spring and Summer! Grrrr!!!

    Hi Vernon.
We have a fair size lawn, and I cut it in three goes, then we have a big council frontage, but lately after cutting one the rain comes, and the grass grows and I'm back to cutting the same one, Meanwhile the rest is heading towards Heaven.

Again today just like mid winter, wet cold and clouds.

AS to the weather men, think they just pull a forecast out of the hat and hope it will fit.
Well I can tell them the ones they pulled out of late are way off beam.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Talking Re: Our Future Brains of Britain?...

Getting back to the Theme of the thread, before we got hijacked by Cricket and the Weather! (By the way I'm particularly intrigued by John Gill's post (#2) in which he mentions a local Liverpool station presenter who hosts a local Liverpool radio quiz called 'Hold Your Plums' !...)

I heard someone on a TV quiz show who was asked- "Which American brothers were the pioneers of powered aircraft flight across the Atlantic?"
Her answer was.......wait for it.........Ta-da ! ....."the Marx Brothers?" (with a suitably unsure raise of the voice at the end)

Another contestant on a quiz-admittedly it was a quick-fire round-was asked-"In which Middle East country is Abu Dhabi ?"

    His answer....... "Wales".
Now, it was quickly passed over with no giggle from the audience or questioning his answer by the quiz host, other than "Wrong",next question......"
Well,I don't know about you but I was intrigued as to why he would say Wales. After a while it dawned on me.He meant the resort and town of Aberdovey on the Welsh coast, not withstanding the question specifically stated which Middle East country.
Actually I don't always blame the contestants. So many times I have misheard the host's question of what word beginning with B etc....and I thought he/she had said what word beginning with V. Similarly when asked what thing etc.beginning with S,and I have jumped in with my answer of something beginning with F !
How many of us have done that?

Maybe the producers also should be blamed for some contestants stupid answers.I think contestants are told by the production team if you don't know the answer just guess ! Problem is the producer will not be the one to be ridiculed on live TV by an hilarious answer, but I suppose it makes for good TV in the producers' and bosses eyes!...

    Hi Graham.
Completely of course as we used to do at sea in the messroom, I give you this little piece I wrote in one writing Class.
He was only seven and very naïve
He had a secret he kept up his sleeve
He watered and watched as the plants they did thrive
And glad they were hidden down the end of the drive
Tomatoes he'll give to his Mum from his seed
A wonderful salad from his hidden deed
Then whilst being babysat by his lovely Aunt Anna
The cops informed him he'd grown Marijuana

#15. Seems an explanation is needed re my #2 post referring to a Merseyside quiz. Hold Your Plums is Essentially a double entrende combining a fruit machine's symbols and part of the males reproductive organs. You spin two Plums, hold them, hoping for a third.
