    Default bird flu

A free range egg farm is a mile or so outside the village ......the owners are fine folk most likeable and always ready for the craic.......sadly they have just had to put down 16000 thousand chickens this week as the bird flu is spreading again this year ....this is a truly sad tale ......it is believed the chickens get infected by birds coming south to our warmer climes for winter .....what with covid ...winter flu......the new variant .....now the bird flu .....i have just stated the only thing i will not be in line for is a .....sexually transmitted disease for xmas....lol cappy R683532<img src="https://www.merchant-navy.net/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.png" border="0" alt="" title="Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)" smilieid="7" class="inlineimg">

    Talking Re: bird flu

Heck! That's a HUGE amount of 'Clucks' to be put down.
Think we better watch out as well for Swine Flu...Swine Flu (2).jpg

And to think I used to worry about my little friend 'Norman' when it started bending to one side.

My brother's wife's family were hill farmers and some years ago turned most of the farm to free range eggs production for one of the major super market chains. Annually they full the chickens ( hens) for chicken sales, replacing them with new birds,

Swine fever and Swine flu, two different things.

Swine fever is similar to foot and mouth in cattle.

Swine flu is a more recent complaint.

Similar going on this way re: the birds etc.

Gone off the idea of Turkey for Crimbo,
may just do curry with all the trimmings.

Des, stop eating beans before you go to bed, might keep the sheets down.
