Memories
Its amazing how a smell or a noise can trigger memories.
Today I was at the Hospital with my wife and parked outside was one of the portable Xray/Clinical vans complete with diesel generator.
I was sitting in foyer waiting on my wife who was giving blood for a blood test.
The tranquillity was disturbed with a low rumble as the diesel generator was started up and settled down to a low rumble.
I was immediately transported back in time to an engine room, I swear I could smell the hot oils of the E.R.
It was a pleasant thought while it lasted.
Anyone else have these types of memories?

Re: Memories
Get a feeling similar Vic when walking past a pub. Get a sudden urge to go inside and inspect the furniture. You must get similar to inspect the light fittings. And yet when walking around Fremantle Harbour the urge is to run in the opposite direction. Cheers JS

Re: Memories
With me living so close to the Seaforth Free port on Merseyside i hear all kinds of noises and sounds day and night that are relevant to me, As i sit and type this post i can tell you that at this very moment hatches are being opened over there i can hear the lids and chains dragging them open. A noise i hear less and less these days are tugs horns, I suppose there not in great demand that they once were these days Terry.

Re: Memories
When I get the urge I am off to Port Melbourne to look at the sea and ships.
I know what John means about looking at the pub furniture but I often took a nap on the sidewalk with the kerb as a pillow.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
