Thoughts on married life
After 43 years of married life I am still my wife's favourite person as every time she speaks to me it begins with,
John, do me a favour and make/get/fetch
A cup of tea/sandwich etc
That jar from the top shelf/the washing up done etc
Fetch me my glasses/phone etc
This despite her calling me a lazy bit!

Re: Thoughts on married life
I've been married 56 years, and the only tip i can give anyone, is when you are out, always hold hands, it stops them spending money, kt

Keith Tindell - I have always have and still do hold my wife’s hand when out and about together. However, your joking reason for doing so is really choice. Am still laughing as i type. Thank you ! Oh, we have been married for 54 years.

Re: Thoughts on married life
#5...4 months to go Des to our 60th. Does it change any then ? My wifes hands are always cold and she wears gloves this time of year , and frightened I might get frostbite. Seriously though if hadn’t met her I would have died years ago through over doing the good life. What a way to go though dying fully booted and spurred. Now it will hopefully be in bed with a serene smile and a candle in the wind , ( probably because of no electricity ) and people looking frantically for the non existent money caches . Was courting for 5 years in my head as was away most of the time was very hard to do in those days with no mobiles or iPads and just paper and pen and an unreliable postman . Today in Australia they are having suicides in the FIFO workforce for being away 3/4 weeks.
Makes one wonder if we are all living in the same world . Cheers JS

Re: Thoughts on married life
My wife has been married for 53 years now.
We get along very well, she says jump, I say how high.
During the lock down she had me doing all the jobs I did not even know we needed to do, but now we are on the second lock down, 7 weeks or so we are told, she is still finding jobs to do.
Bit like the call of the early morning bird, 'have you got a second'???
But as we now know, a free thinker is an unmarried man
