Re: Crisis
Been on my own for nearly 12 years now, fair to say I'm quite organised now, I do everything except the shopping which I do online
and have delivered by Sainsburys, I've got a large panasonic mickywave and accessories, a George Foreman grill and a slow cooker.
I don't go for fancy cooking, always enjoyed straight forward meals, meat and veg etc, I use roasting bags for joints and fish, they
cut out the smells and keep the oven clean, I've done turkey crowns in the bags with great results every time, but I still haven't
found a way around filling the emptiness of my wife not being here, cheers.

Re: Crisis
My wife looks after me very well and can turn her hand to anything;
She went fishing yesterday off the Tyne and came home with 2 nice Ling and 3 very nice Cod, plus a load of mackerel. So freezer well stocked for some time.

Re: Crisis
#19 John you seem to have it all organised and good luck to you but as you say it does not replace the loss of your loved one and if I have to put up with ding a ling meals so be it as long as I still have my Val here with me even if things are not as well as they could be. Den

You are both going through a very tough time Den, maybe Val is not quite as aware of it as you are bu she knows you are there for her, your
love for each other will help you through this horrible time for you both, it's a sad fact that at our time of life, life stops giving and starts taking.
Most of us are lucky to have happy memories to fall back on, it sometimes it is an escape to wander down memory lane, I spend a lot of time there ,
wish you both all the very best, stay strong, John.

A few years ago my neighbour bought his first mickywave, on the second day of using it, he left a metal spoon in the bowl, he said

Re: Crisis
Remember trying to dry some damp salt years ago in
a microwave, sparks did fly and managed to turn it off
fast.
