Re: Thoughts on married life
I was once asked why I went grocery shopping with my wife.
Quite simple, some one has to push the trolley around.
But last time it ended in war almost.
There was vanishing cream on special and she wanted to buy two bottles, I suggested three, one for her and two for the mother in law.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Thoughts on married life
When ever i go in M&S with my dear one, and she chooses various bits of dress, and offf to the changing room, that means at least 20 minutes, and the chairs outside the changing room is a really nice idea, there is usually another couple of guys there as well, and obviously we chat, when i asked the girl there why they don't put a dartboard on the wall there for us weary chaps, she just laughed !!, i was bloody serious, kt

Re: Thoughts on married life
Did read, a very long time ago that a store had done that,
A bar, Low or non alcohol beers and dart board etc, for wives
to deposit hubbies while they shopped. Never did hear of it again.

Re: Thoughts on married life
Still a few left but, loved the Irish grocery stores years ago,
a counter with a meat slicer and cheese wire etc one side
and a Guinness pump on the other side, plus a few stools.

Re: Thoughts on married life
My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have Sex?'
'No,' she answered.
I then said, 'Is that your final answer?'
... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, 'Yes..'
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
And that's when the fight started...

Re: Thoughts on married life
#43 Have never ever presumed or chastised the wife or criticised her in her shopping , I would have got my head in my hands and finished up for ever doing the shopping myself. I have never paid a household bill as wouldn’t even know how it’s done. The woman as far as I have lived for the past nearly 60 years the home was her domain. I was hardly ever there in any case so would never criticise. If I want a bottle of whiskey I go myself and buy and put in the bottom of the pantry and hope she doesn’t notice until it’s empty. Just shows how every household is different. Cheers JS

Re: Thoughts on married life
A friend bought us a large net bag of nuts and bird seed a few days ago and hung it up on the back patio spar. Two particular parrots have demolished this bag in so many days . Would Bunnings be likely to sell these? Forgot to ask her where she got it. JS

Re: Thoughts on married life
A local news station is interviewing an 80 year old lady after she has just been married for the fourth time. The young journalist asks her questions about her life, at what is was like to be marrying again at such an advanced age ,and then about her new husbands occupation.
"He's been a funereal director for 60 years>"
"Ah, very interesting." And would you mind telling me a little about your first three husbands"?
" Not at all. Fist I married a banker when I was in my twenties, then a Circus Ring master in my 40s, and a Preacher in my 60s, before being now with my funereal director."
The interviewer looks at her quite astounded, "They are ,"he says, carefully, " very diverse careers."
Yes she say. "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to GO,GO,GO.
