Sorry Lewis-I did see you mentioned free organic fertiliser.....anyway I was a bit preoccupied with that heavy load the hosses were pulling,and my first thought was "Oh No,What statue's been toppled now!"

Re the fertiliser all the more reason to use a knife and fork to eat your fish and chips rather than ones fingers, especially if not wearing gloves . Wonder what the bloke in the post about eating only with his fingers would do ? JS

I was once told by an Indian steward when he could see I was new to curry-eating sans utensils and wanting to try 'going native'-(this was in the duty mess,not in the saloon of course)
1.Do remember to use your Right Hand for eating-the left hand is for wiping you-know-what.Very difficult to remember if you are naturally a dominant left hander.
2.The contents of one's finger bowl is not for drinking. Ask for a glass of water.
3.If you are very hungry,don't lick your fingers -you might just bite off the tips....

That brings back the times we used to Eat our Hot Bunny Chows in Durban with our Hands , there was no other way it was lovely! Curry all over ! LOL

I wonder how many of you cart before the horse geniuses with a lot to say actually drove trucks and posessed HGV licences.
Without heavy goods trucks and their drivers this country would come to a standstill.
At the present time HGV drivers are in great demand.

On the net today a very interesting article about the climate.
Scientists in USA are now saying that the facts and figures pout forward about the climate are incorrect.

They were based on a possible scenario where all their facts came into being.
No consideration was given at that time for the effect of sun spots or eruptions, of which there have been many of late, so they now consider the situation not to be as bad as many say.

But too late for the many who now are making a killing from wind farms, solar panels and evs.

In the 60's predictions of a global dep freeze in the 70's, still waiting for that.

#17 Fouro I doubt very much whether I will have a private auto licence after January so won’t be driving anything unless it’s a skateboard or a gofor battery operated of course . Would have liked a horse instead but would have nowhere to put it , can’t very well take it into the bar with me as too many would complain. Besides it might become an alcoholic. Cheers JS

Yes indeed the Truckies all over do fantastic work, hands up to them one and all!
I did drive Heavy Trucks at one time as well, and had an Extra Heavy Duty Licence EHDL as it was known in South Africa at the time, so could Drive almost anything.
Must look for it, as i do have the Licence somewhere!

I had an HGV licence for many years, in fact when they became a requirement by law, i was ok as i was already driving a heavy vehicle. I see this week that due to the dire shortage of HGV drivers, Tesco is offering a £1000 bonus to anyone signing up to drive for them, kt

JS I wouldn't worry about that John,in some of the hard-drinking places I once knew,nobody would bat an eyelid,they were so used to 'seeing' things like horses at the bar-and just think you'd be able to tell those old 'hoss' jokes like:
Barman,to horse at bar. "Hi mate ! Why the long face?", and;
Barman, "We don't get many horses in this bar,you know ".. Horse : "I'm not surprised at these effing prices !"
