On the Hops Again

I loike cider, when I drinks cider I farts and when I farts I larfs, and when I larfs I knows I be appy:p

Local pubs are being closed at a rate of knots sadly these days and it is due to two things, Supermarkets and Weatherspoon's.

Lewis, that is not new mate.
We left UK in 1980 and pubs were closing then.
Heard at one time some 10,000 had gone.
Drink driving and bottle shops with low prices did a lot of the damage.

John I was not decrying you for liking Red Barrell I had a few myself I was just stating my opinion of what happened to real ale after it was introduced, as you say to each his own we all drank what we preferred. Rgds Den

Denis, I found that when on the UK coast that Red Barrel was the most reliable drink, unless in the N.EAST OR SCOTLAND. Also on ships with draught beer in the bar, the Red Barrel travelled the best, Whitbreads on the other hand, had to be dumped within a week or so after loading in Europe went off quickly..

Hi Den, Perish the thought mate, I Knew what you meant, it never entered my mind that you were having a go:).
When I said there was eight of us at darts didnt mean we were mob handed, it was four from my town Wood Green and four from Potters Bar, that's why we met up on Mondays to catch up on events, then as usual, the girls came on the scene and we all drifter away, my wife came from Potters Bar, some
very good mates and great times there, cheers.

Here in Oz the number of micro breweries springing up is amazing.
Main line such as VB still does very well as do many of the others.
Fosters is rarely seen now and none of the micros sell in bottle shops.
Aldi sell some imported stuff but it is far too sweet for me.
Some of the clubs do have imported ones but most rely on local brews.

The dry style are very popular as are the very bitter ones.
Now the sun is over the yard arm, must go, time for another one.
