Gun crime in the UK is not the biggest threat to public safety. Most murders are usually to do with drugs. But listening to the UK main news, with gang fights over drugs there are shootings and stabbings in most UK cities nearly every day and night of the week.
England & Wales 671 murders last year
Scotland 61 murders murders last year
N Ireland 20 murders last year
The weapon of choice would appear to be Knives. Quite scary statistics really. The good news is the number of murders have been falling over the last few years.
My nephew was one of them , beaten and kicked to death by a women. She is now serving life in prison. This death was as a direct result of drug use by people on the edge of sanity
There is No Deterrent for killing.
Bring back Hanging, ASAP
The Law is stupid.
Life in Prison is 15 years, apologise in Court and a third of the sentence is removed, so Ten Tears is left,
Good behaviour, gets 50 % off so you can kill some one and only do FIVE Years,
The Five years is Not Punishment,
Play Pool , work out ion the Gym, an excellent Library. Watch TV, and No License required, do a computer course.3 meals a day, Laundry done, instant medical treatment Free dental and Spectacles. NO GAS OR ELECTRIC BILLS
Worrying when your not in our country, sub machine guns pointed at us

As I said John knives are the weapon of choice. I think drugs and gangs fighting to maintain there TURF& Control !!! are the biggest cause of murders, then next up is likely to be Domestic violence, families etc!
The current laws do not seem to be a deterrent. I think a lot of sentencing is cut short because of economics. How much does a length of rope cost?? but I am not really a fan of introducing the death penalty again there have been to many people jailed for crimes they did not commit and have been stitched up by the police.

#13 Victoria I think you have missed #11 humour, you need the right change !!! but maybe I have misunderstood as well?
Back in the 50'sand 60's when the likes of the Krays and the Richardson's ruled the roost there was very little crime against the average person.
It was mainly gang on gang all about their 'Turf'.
Story was an old lady was mugged, the Krays heard about it, the guy was found and his body later found down by the river side.
Now they will mug anyone, kill anyone who they think may be a problem for them and have no respect of life in any form.
Being a right wing person, at time extreme I see no problem in wasting these people, cheaper than keeping them locked up.
