    Default Billy Connolly

Just watched an old Billy Connolly film " Down among the big boys " . Great stuff , full of Glasgow humour.

AFTER the loss of Sean Connery, funnyman Sir Billy Connolly is possibly the most famous living Scotsman.

Sad to hear that he had announced his retirement after 50 years in stand-up as he opened
up on his battle with Parkinson's.

    Keith.

Peter McDougal produced several plays for the BBC, all centered around Glasgow life in the ‘60’s or thereabouts.ne One of his very best was “Just a Boys Game” starring Frankie Miller, the Glasgow Blues/Soul singer and many other familiar actors including Hector Nichol.
It’s definitely worth a watch, some of the lines in it are classic Glasgow patter. The full video is available on YouTube.

Picture this; a husband, wife and two weans pull up to one of the new self-service petrol stations. The husband gets out, takes hold of the pump and then stares in bewilderment at the pump while his wife leans back in her seat while thumping the weans. She turns round, winds the window down and say’s “Whit’s keeping ye”
“Ah’m tryin tae work it oot” he says. “Work it oot, ye couldnae work a tanner oot a dumplin” she say’s. Brilliant !!!

    What about this one.
Man walks into the ground floor entrance to a block of high rise flats. Walks to the elevator where there’s a kid holding a rope that’s around a horse’s neck. The man points to the elevator door and say’s “yur no gonnie take that in there, are ye”, The kid replies, “Ye don’t expect it tae walk up the stairs, do ye”.
