In UK if you get unwanted phone calls, ...............
Just dial 1572, it is , BT CALL PROTECT, they will have that number and they put it in the Black List
I get very few now and if any they cannot call again.

    Hi Den.
We had that block, but after awhile they got around it, we haven't had one for awhile, they must be targeting West Aus, on saying that the bloody thing will ring now, when I hear an Indian voice on the phone I say this is Cooma police station can I help you, and bugger me I get cut off. On another tack I engage them in conversation, I asked one woman if she wouldn't mind waiting while I went and got my credit card, {which we don't have] put the phone to one side then went on reading my book, surprisingly she rang off.

I have a call blocker program on my Mobile which works well, but on the landline that is the Problem we had. Not too bad now days though as said. You can buy a Telstra phone that will do all the things necessary, but costs too much. So i just keep doing what i do! Cheers

I very often get a call on my mobile and it always shows as a Sydney number.
What these people do not understand is that you can Google the number and it shows as a scam number.

Of course you can always ask for their number say you are busy and will ring back.
They never give it miserable buggers.

As mentioned earlier, caller display is useful, however, on my landline I occasionally receive calls that show as local.the scam calls are usually identified by the foreign prefix but obviously there is a way round this and the call IS from abroad. I admit I was fooled once, as the caller appeared to have a local accent, reminding me of my visits to the middle east and the barber in Port Said who could mimic any accent of his customers. So beware of tongues that speak.

Recently I have been getting a call from a London number. You can tell it is an automated call as there is no hello or good morning Sir. The call goes along the lines of!!!! This is to inform you that an arrest warrant will be issued today for criminal activities you have been recently involved in blah blah!!!! If you want to know the contents of the charges you are being arrested for Press 1, if you would like to speak to a legal advisor Press 2.
Maybe a day or so will go by and ring ring , This is to inform you Blah blah. The only one I am really interested in hearing from is my very good friend from Nigeria. He wants to give me $40 million. Sadly we have hit an impasse as he says he is waiting for my bank details so I can get the $40 million. I think I will let him sweat a bit longer.

Just had one via an e-mail pretending to be my bank saying I must update my details.
Good copy but not good enough as the bank does not send out such messages in that format.
Forwarded it to our financial guy who will pass it back to the bank.
