    Default The Middle East.

Ref. A recent post about the Parsi religion and my calling them the Jews of India. This was a mistake historically on my behalf as was getting them mixed up with the return of the Jews from Babylon after 70 years in captivity in the reign of King Jehoiakim. After his reign the then king of Persia Cyrus liberated them to return to their native land to rebuild the Temple of Solomon. The word oppression as applied to the Parsi put me off course. As this was over 3,500 years ago it was even before the era of Christianity starting to be established . Some of the members on site will recognise the source of this information taken at face value. But it also illustrates that the infamous deeds and oppressions of over 3000 years ago are still being fought today with modern arms. One cannot change peoples beliefs and those trying to do so have a cat in hells chance of doing so, especially when they are outsiders in any case and have no idea of how these people think. Any changes to a persons thinking has to come from those same people themselves. Myself I would leave them to process through their own efforts and mind my own business. JS.

#2... I was a choir boy Des believe it or not in the High Church of England , this was in between the V2 attacks on London and its suburbs. It was mercenary on my half as got paid at weddings and funerals. I still remember the creed, I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints and the resurrection of the Body, and where’s my money. JS

Also did the choir boy bit, even sang in St Paul's in London, bit of a disaster though too many white mice.

#4. Never attained those heights never got past St. Luke’s Kingston on Thames. Although in later life did get accepted as having permission to get married or have my children christened in St. Paul’s if wanted to, a bit late in life for me , like opening the stable door after the horse had bolted. Cheers JS.

I was an alter boy from 7 years*old to 15.Catholic schools Junior and High. Taught by the nuns. Could say the mass in Latin. That was the*nuns main focus .The three Rs came after that. Never did find a job where saying the Mass in Latin was a requirement. I don't do Mass any more. English or Latin.Taught by Nuns.jpgTaught by Nuns.jpg

    Hi John S
Please Please tell me your horse is still in the stable, I hope the holy Ghost didn't take off with it.
I wasn't in the choir, but I did the bit of pumping the organ, {musical} in the small back room, letting the air run down now and again for a bit of fun, like getting a clip behind the ear by the Verger singing, OH HAPPY DAYS.

Des, I have heard it called many things but not that one!!

Den, my wife was taught by the Holy Nuns, she is very good at sewing but I am sure they could teach more than that.

aha skinned out out then...well a few on here did that.....and a tale is told .......cappy
