John they actually give way to pedestrians up there!! Couldn't believe it, if we hesitated they yelled out " go on love I'll wait till you get to the curb." Love 'em all. LOL

Queenslanders, beautiful one day, perfect the next?
Most of the ones I knew, and sailed with a couple, were well named.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I have three strikes against me, so I quess I must be out.

    Born a Pommie.

Adopted as a ham shank and love it. Especially the deep South.

Loved Oz too Especially the Deep North. I've been there and done that and sent a postcard. All around the Ocean Road, down the track, 3000 miles from Cairns to Melbourne, panned for gold, climbed Ayer's Rock, shot a roo, made pasties from it, caught barramundy, across to Tassie, Canberra, then back to God's country, the Deep North, Far North Queensland and a ripper Port Douglas moka pie (both meat and apple) in Port Douglas.

I was in Port Douglas before and after they spoilt it and put in fancy hotels to attract the Japanese package tourist trade The Japanese ended buying up the hotels. The tourists arrived in the morning out to the reef, back to the hotel and out the next morning. See Australia in a week including flight time.

Furthest south I could go without breaking out in shivers was Childers and Bunderburg. Dived and logged a hundred dives (day and night) on the Great Barrier Reef, seen and have photos while diving with sharks. Seen crocks both Salty and Freshy (have Photos). I think I can say I've been there and done that and have the photos to prove it. I'm a True-Blue, Dinky-die Honorary Bananna Bender. 2nd Home? FNQ.

Oh! they changed Beer to XXXX when they decided to enter the export market and send a true beer down South and had to do it so the Southerners and Westerners and Japanese tourist who wanted to take it back home could easily read what it was.

    Cheers Ockers,

Ps. Been to Coober Pedy too.

This country gets to you. My wife who is on the conservative side walked into the Club yesterday and looked at all the men sitting up on their tall stools drinking, and said, they look like a colony of seals.

Victoria, times have changed if you now call a spade a spade you will get done for racial discrimination.

I heard today that the far north Queensland lot, obviously effected by the heat or that stuff they call beer want to declare it as a separate state or better still country.
Must be taking lessons from that lot where John is in WA as they want to separate from the rest of us.

But then if you take a good hard look at al of us we are all a bit mad here in Oz, maybe something to do with convict stock??
    Happy daze John in Oz.

#18... John like many many more you are falling under the spell of the media. As all they need is a spoken few words in a bar to embellish a story to their liking and cause consternation in a Nation. In other times of unrest they would be classed as saboteurs and given the order of the boot. Of course people talk about self rule but most know it is hogwash, and a way of showing their disagreement with others . The media has in the past and will continue to do so cause a lot of unnecessary harm by reporting of such low standards that it doesnt bear thinking about. I believe the average Australian would plump for rather going for one central government and taken away the power of all other not central parliaments. Who knows they may even print that one day if it suits their purposes . Instead of printing provocative rubbish. They are excellent makers of the bullets for others to fire. Who needs agitators like them in any case. Maybe fifth columnists would be a better descriptive word for them. Cheers JS

John mate, so true I know of no other nation with so much governance.
But to make it worse most of them ae not worth a pinch of Nanny Goats.
Here in Victoria we have Comrade Dan, he of the not sure which lot but suspect an extreme left wing Socialist.

But he has done well for the comics and those who want something to shoot at.

But just think, if there was no media we may learn the truth, maybe Blind Freddy may know what it is.

As you may have heard our lot here in Victoria should all be in a home, during the enquiry not one of them could remember anything.
    Early onset Dementia I reckon.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Not bad, but one thing I noticed n charge to go into museums.
Here in Victoria we charge like wounded bulls.
