    Default San demetrio london.

Should anybody be interested, the 1943 film about the British Tanker SAN DEMETRIO is
being shown on channel 81 at 14:00 this Saturday, a good film and well worth a watch, cheers.

Hi John. It has been shown a few times on Ch. 81 I recorded it some time back, always good to view it again.

That's me Bill, back of the queue as usual, unlike you and Vic, I've only seen it once and that was a long time ago, I've only recently found
Ch 81, there are some smashing old films on there, always enjoy the old films for nostalgia as well as the stories, no swearing and little violence, cheers.

John, some classics on channel 81. Half the fun sometimes is trying to remember who the actors are as they are so young.

This caught my eye as my grandfather's name was John Boyle, my grandmother Boyle died quite young so I didn't get to know her very well, but during school holidays I loved staying with my grandfather in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.

Now you can read about a different John Boyle who was a 'greaser' aboard the oil tanker San Demetrio by clicking on the html below.

    Regards from,
    Fouro.

San Demetrio, was docked in the Garvel Drydock, where the remains of the damaged bow was removed and the ship repired
A new bow was manufactured by Lithgows, Port Glasgow.
New bow towed to Drydock, fitted and returned to service
