I'd put money on it John, that in hindsight you can see what you did wrong to cause the ladder accidents you've had, after 60 years of ladder work
including hod carrying, roof work , telephone poles and tree cutting, never fallen off a ladder yet and happy to say, not any broken bones, it's a fact,
accidents don't just happen, "They are caused". I don't use them now as my balance is getting a bit iffy, hope you learned from your mishaps:) cheers.
John I can assure you we don't bounce like we used to do and I only fell off the pavement and ended up needing surgery for broken fingers and got a rollicking for ignoring the odd dizzy spells I was having. Rgds Den
I came off my motorbike on ice Den, I didn’t bounce but sure did slide:) , cheers
Is that the new Olympic sport? Motorbikes on ice.
Des
A we mature there is always the possibility that we may make a mistake.
Falling off a ladder that has bot been positioned correctly is one, but in most cases we only make the mistake once, unlike polticians who continue to make the same ones over and over again.
Thanks JFC
Yes indeed the new lease on life sure has made a hell of a difference to me,and my Family.
I am now full of energy again, as as you know Playing Golf again!
It really was a small miracle for me, but as they say Just wasnt my time i guess!
How sweet life can be !
Cheers
Mind you when i look back on the things i have done, its a wonder that i did not Kaak it a long time ago! LOL
That's great news Doc and long may it last, I think most of us will admit that we take our lives and health for granted until
something goes wrong, and then we appreciate what we had. I think a few of us have experienced "close calls" in our time,
not least those of us who were bombed during the war, we survived but sadly 17 of our neighbours died, so you could say
"There but for the grace of God go I", still here and trying to make the most of it, all the Georgie Best :) .
Don't know about the Olympics Des but there certainly is speedway on ice, the tyres are spiked, so could be nasty in a pile up, I regularly went
to speedway at Haringay Arena in the early fifties, terrific atmosphere there and loved the smell of fuel, cinders and burnt rubber:) , cheers
