Lois, both my best mate and a brother in law lost their partners about the same time last year.
If you are going through even part of what they tell me then you have my deepest condolences and sympathy.
Life throws some curve balls to us al at times, but with inner strength and the comfort of your family you will come through this.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I thank you all for your kind words and thoughts our MN bond is still very strong even though many years have passed.
In many ways I am in a far better position than many other men. The life we shared taught us to be self sufficient and self reliant. Before washing machines we dhobied all our gear by hand , kept our accommodation clean and tidy and took a pride in our appearance. Keeping the house and garden looking good comes naturally but I try to hang out my washing on the line in a way that I don't have to iron it.
My biggest problem at the moment is lack of concentration, I can't read books or watch much tv because my mind wanders , the words and pictures don't register.
    Stay safe
    Louis

Louis, you are not alone on all those points, I find difficult to sit and watch a whole program through, mind you sometimes its because the dog asks to be out ha ha (its the better option in that case)

I think Louis that most of us with partners know that at some point its going to happen, and it worries us, i know i do, and sometimes in the early hours and unable to sleep, the mind dwells on what maybe. I think also in our partnerships we realise how strong we are together, so i really feel for your position, and the garden will i am sure give you a little peace eventually, i have a large garden, and i can while away hours out there, so all best wishes mate, kt
