Dress for dinner,
Today , Good Friday, as we have now been locked in our home for 28 days, during which time I have done the garden beautifully, and the sun is shining and warm , no work today.
So just shaved shampooed, and showered.
As I should now be in the South Pacific on our cruise that was cancelled I am in my shorts, with my Hawaiian shirt on, a large Gin and Tonic. and this evening we are dressing for Dinner, I will be wearing my dinner suit, dress shirt, and dicky Bow, SHE will be wearing her best evening gown , wine in the Fridge, and a glass of Sherry, Dinner is organised , we are having Salmon Fillets, etc. and we will be enjoying a part of the cruise we are missing,
Only the Waiters will be missing.
ENJOY. why not, brightens up a dull lock down.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Dress for dinner,
Happy Easter guys, unlike Brian's weather, not warm and sunny. Woke up this morning to 1c, overcast and half inch of the white stuff....Not spending time in the garden today, another day in lockdown paradise..

Re: Dress for dinner,
Brian I respectfully suggest you watch the video 'Dinner for One' with Freddie Frinton, it will give you an idea of how to behave

Re: Dress for dinner,
Yesterday the sun was shining and got a bit done outside.
Today, rain to start the day, lots of it.
Now very sunny with a gale force wind blowing.
If it continues will have to get the longer shorts out as my knees get cold.
Could have a take away from the Chinse for dinner or eat out a the Golden Arches take away, time yet to decide.
But the beer is cold, the Gin is par excellence and we got NETFLIX.

Re: Dress for dinner,
We had an excellent dinner, a touch of elegance in an incredible boring four weeks of being locked up.
rather like a fancy dress party for two A glass of Sherry before Dinner then two bottles of Chardonnay nicely chilled.
Must try it again sometime if the situation lasts. It breaks up the monotony.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Dress for dinner,
We had a different Good Friday. Just the two of us at home during this lockdown in Halifax, Nova Scotia so we had a wine and cheese party with our son in Toronto and two of our similarly aged friends in Wakefield, Yorkshire. All locked down.
Communication was via Skype and it all worked very well. The only differences were the times and the weather, our Yorky friends provided a great deal of hilarity by showing their legs in shorts due to the warm weather and us giving them our view of snow and rain showers.
The party ended much later in England than it did for us, but we were all sufficiently plastered by then and retired thanking our lucky stars for the wonders of modern science.
