With all this coronavirus stuff going on, do you think the owner of this cargo vessel had chosen a different name.

Re: Inaptly named!!!
I did 3 trips on tankers running petrol and gas oil up and down the Pacific coast of Mexico. We were on charter to Pemex and always loaded in Salina Cruz and discharged in ports all the way up to the border with the USA.
Corona and dos equis were are two favourite beers and they all in sale and return bottles. The initial order worked out at about 50 cents a bottle but that dropped to about 20 cents a bottle on subsequent orders when the empties were returned.
Corona these days is an international brand owned by one of the major breweries and brewed in many countries worldwide and so tastes nothing like the Corona we drank in Mexico.
Cappys favourite tipple was Sol, again a beer that was originally a Mexican brand.

Agree, it is very "soft" on the back of the throat, does nothing to quench my thirst, bit like some American beers, although the American IPA I have tried is pretty good.
Off for my McEwans Export (before my late night nip ha ha), now that IS beer.

Re: Inaptly named!!!
As far as can be seen there has never been a ship by the name of S.S. Phyllis.

Re: Inaptly named!!!
Remember the story that went the rounds years ago, when it was the BTC . Crowd recutting the the names in of the British Workman. Renamed it the British Workhouse. The owners were not amused. JS
