Believe Ivan is off for a months salsa dancing in Tenerife tomorrow?
He better pack his dustpan and brush if this is anything to go by.

Back in the early 70's we went there for a break.
Similar events then took place though we wee not effected as it was in the middle of our holiday.
But for many sat at the airport for two days no fun at all.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Seems there is more than a sandstorm to worry about there. The Italian doctor who has tested positive in the hotel, would have flown there for a start, so all the passengers on that flight will be tested. My son and four others due to fly there on friday, he's now thinking of cancelling and cut his losses. The FCO have not issued a travel warning as such, yet, so insurance companies will not pay out they have warned for cancellations, kt

Well the holiday turned out to be a little different to that experienced previously, was scheduled to arrive back in UK next Tuesday 24th, but were advised on 19th that hotel was closing its doors on 21st and we had to find alternative accommodation, not so easy as Spanish govt decreed that all hotels must close on 21st and airport would be closed for all flights in and out on the 24th. TUI our holiday rep deserted us a few days earlier when we were put in lockdown and confined to our rooms and to add insult to injury the sun disappeared for that week and it was freezing on the balcony. Spent the 19th and 20th trying to get a flight home finally getting on an Easyjet emergency flight to Gatwick (rather than Exeter), our Torquay travel agent (Different Corners) was first class getting us on the Easyjet flight without us paying a penny making sure that Easyjet made TUI paid our flight. TUI told us no seats on flight to Exeter that day, but spoke with a friend today who flew on the Friday flight and the plane was half empty, so ended up with a £330 taxi from Gatwick to Torquay as no trains or buses to the southwest at 2000 hours from Gatwick finally arriving 0030 hours this morning, knackered! but home where I can get my tablets, so important to us oldies!!
At least we are isolated in comfortable and familiar surroundings and all the paint stores are closed (Whoopee!)

Nice to see you back Ivan, we have never seen the likes of this, so we just have to develop the old wartime spirit. i know we had black market spives during the war, but i don't think we saw so many selfish bas***** as we see in supermarkets at present. How are you getting on with stocks, most people who return from holiday have left the house with no perishable food, so coming back its old mother hubbards, regards kt
