    Default Home thougts from aboard

Oh to be in England now that Aprils here, and who ever wake sin England sees some morning unaware, that she has done a runner.
    But I digress.

Since 1991 we have made regular trips, either for stay holidays or cruise to Indonesia.
two Christmas/New Years in Lombok, an island with a population split 50/50 with Mos and Hindu.
In the hotel foyer a nativity scene, Christmas morning children singing carols in the restaurant while we had breakfast.

this year in all the shopping malls and public areas we visited there were festooned, such a magnanimous word, with Christmas decoration and signs saying Merry Christmas, happy new year.
As one Mos told us we love it, for one day of the year we become Christians.

Yet here in Oz, and no doubt in parts of UK we have local councils who ban such things.
No decorations in the shopping malls, no carols to be played or sung, no nativity plays in schools, and no Christmas parties for staff at years end.
All is just referred to as 'holiday time'.

All this they say to protect those of other types who may be offended by such activities.
What they fail to see is that by doing this they also offend the very people they say they are protecting.

They go on public paid for junkets overseas to see what goes on, but they are like 'Shultz' they see nothing.

Our culture and way of life is slowly being eroded by these extreme left wing politically correct ideologists.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

They say we are behind down here but to us that is a good thing.
From what you say I am glad we abandoned Melbourne 11 yrs ago. We knew the Peninsula was going "off" as confirmed when we went there recently.
Well Victoria, not wanting to put too fine a point on it, it is Tassie you speak of.
Have you got to 21 st century yet? LOL

But I am not such a fan of the season, I never get any presents.
All began along time ago when mum told Santa I was not real.
