Try searching for "Still Game" on Netflix. About two pensioners in Glasgow - hilarious, language is typical Glaswegian

One of the funniest men on TV has to be Peter Kay, his one man stand ups are really funny and thankfully his use of bad language is in todays world is reasonably mild. Great shows like Car Share, also I never get bored watching Phoenix Nights. Concerning Americans, surely Robin Williams has to be one of the funniest men and talented people to entertain many of us, such loss and so sad that he was a troubled soul.
But lots of funny men have there demons and decide they cannot carry on, Tony Hancock also a troubled soul. I also love Joanna Lumely, not only is she funny but also can act as well. The work she has done to bring attention to how the Gurkhas have been treated has paid off.

It's often sad that clowns are the saddest people in real life. My wife is cheerful with everyone but her past is very bad for her so I understand it.

Here in Oz some of the radio commentators viewed the Radio Times list and did their own list from that.
Most agreed Fawlty Towers was the best but also commented that the majority of programs from the 60's and 70's would not be allowed on today.
They would fail to meet the now stringent rules on what has been called 'Sea side pier' entertainment.
Sadly those people of today will never get a good laugh as we did with their politically correct attitude.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

“Rising Damp” is worth a mention.

And when it comes to political correctness, some of you will remember a previous post of mine from a few years back. Not my words but very well defined:

    Political Correctness”
Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of $hit by the clean end!

I really do not know how Dave Allen got away with the religious sketches and jokes he did without being pulled up at some time.

Think it maybe a combination of charisma, luck of the Irish and people being much more accepable "To having a good laugh" without the incumberance of the "Political Correct Brigade" Chris

My grouch is about one of the most hick comedians of all time Graham Norton, he was on one of Father Teds shows and was a complete eggnog, he now has his own show, God must have been paying father Ted back for all his ungodly jokes.
