I think I can beat all of the postings shown above.
A very good friend died about five years ago, today I got an email from him (it wasn't an invite to join him). Email was a load of junk letters-binned.

Vic that reminds me of a story I heard a year or so ago, about a man who 2 years after the death of his brother, received a Text from him supposedly on holiday in Egypt and saying he had been robbed and could he send him 500 euros so he could pay his bills and come home. It shook him rigid as his brother had died on holiday in Egypt. However when he thought about it, he remembered that when his brother had collapsed, in all the confusion, some kind person had stolen his mobile phone as he lay on the ground. So two years later, someone in Egypt must still be using it. Its a terrible world, technology has a lot to answer for.
#10 I agree Cappy I have always paid by debts you know that, I couldn’t sleep at nights worrying about that 3/9d I owed you , and was a great relief when I gave you back with the interest you insisted on. Others must have had the same feelings as me when I paid off my mortgage and knew I was debt free as regards accomodation. However one is never debt free when one considers taxes, rates, water, gas, electricity, insurances, etc. etc. we pay even for the privilege of dying , the last one being the grave digger who throws the last sod on you, hopefully it may be that sod that owed you a quid, he can stay outside your nice warm lined coffin and freeze until the earth freezes over with this climate change. Cheers JS
Now John, climate change it goes like this.
In Early March 1998 and again in 1999 here in Melbourne we had three consecutive days over 40.
We are now in a bit of a heat wave, been goin on since before Christmas.
We were promised 39 toady but it only got to 37, 43 was promised for Friday but now only 42.
One SA town fell 0.1 degree short of it's all time temp back in 1929.
None of this was a problem until 2000 when a guy by the name of Al Gore lost a presidential erection.
Since then all these records are not records, according to the book of gore they are bloody climate change.
Feel sorry for all those of previous generations who thought it was just warm weather.
On the weather as we are now, Vernon a 1.5 kw split system air conditioner costs about 27 cents per hour off peak and 50 cents peak to run.
This information is given freely with no cost to the reader.
#14... In other words you advice getting a thermostatically controlled air conditioner in the coffin and paying the bill by direct debit and be eternally in debt ? JS
We were duded by the weather guys.
Thursday promised 37 got to 40.
Friday promised 41 got to 45 where we are not far from the airport.
But the latest from our opposition leader, a poli so not bright, 'the heat wave is the result of the gov not taking action on climate change'????????????
Oh dear 8 years ago when he was in the gov we had one of the hottest days resulting in one of the worst ever bush fires when about 60 died.
Similar here John
In for a hottie on Saturday as well again!
Don't know whats happening here in Blackheath .never had this kind of heat up here before, well not since we moved!
Cheers
I will not need any AC because i am off to the Crem I want any errors in diagnosis corrected pronto not wake up in a box with a few ton of soil on top. Rgds DEn
I have found the best way to deal with all seasons here in Oz is to dress much the same for all.
I own two pairs of long pants, kept for use on cruise ships to wear at dinner, not allowed in with shorts on.
18 pairs of shorts of various lengths, numerous T shirts and some ordinary shirts.
Couple of jumpers and I am set for all weathers.
Shorts, shirt and a jumper when it gets cold.
All this dressing up like bloody Eskimos, oh dear how is one supposed to move about like that?
I do have some hats as well, keeps the head in good condition.
