Re: Ukraine
#19, John I have always had great respect for your views on a multitude of subjects, however it is easy to say sitting 12,000 miles away that the UK should keep out of it, alas we are not sitting 12000 miles away we are in very close proximity and Russia has shown its probable intent by constantly invading our airspace and having to be escorted away, so far peaceably. Ukraine may not be in NATO and NATO has no legal obligation to go to its assistance, but common sense and a feeling of self survival make it almost imperative that the NATO Nations show a common purpose in trying to prevent an incursion of Ukraine, should such an incursion occur then Russia would have a solid unbroken line hedging all its continental NATO members; should this happen, do you not think that man of Putin's ilk will rest on his laurels, most people living within proximity of Russia, tend to think not; dictators do not rest on their laurels because ambition of controlling others is their driving force and they do not care about the destruction of life and property as long as their ego is satisfied.
Those are my interpretations of the situation, but I am but a simple man and greater brains than mine have no doubt mulled over the situation and have deemed a path to follow that may not agree with simple assumptions.

Re: Ukraine
Well it seems to me the UK has already been invaded and continues to be on a daily basis and think the few hundred troops available would be better employed guarding the shores of the UK. JS
PS Putin is 69 and will not live and rule for ever.

Re: Ukraine
The Queen is a figurehead and Biden is a zombie and well past any use by date he ever had . The people who go to war are not just 1 man., that 1 man carries the can but there are literally hundreds who carry out the plan of attack and expect to win. You don’t think Adolph did it all on his lonesome do you ? JS

Never expected that condescending statement from you John, but we live and learn.
P.S. I know he had at least three bomber pilots unless it was the other man working with him.

Re: Ukraine
John 22, i think that all of these dictators have someone of the same ilk to take over when they go, you only have to look at Zimbabwe , the one in charge now is very much the equal of Mgabbe. Putin will have all his same thinking people all in place and well looked after. kt

Sorry you've completely lost me there, no idea what Malta has to do with us getting bombed out three times by Adolf's 3 mates, the mind works in mysterious ways

Re: Ukraine
#25 It was in reply to your equal funny remark to the 3 Germans assisting Hitler in his Luftwaffe . Faith Hope And Charity were 3 aircraft made of wood and canvas, I believe that was the total Air Force the Maltese had at one time in reply to the German bombing they suffered during the war. Cheers JS...

Re: Ukraine
As this subject seems to hit a sore point with some people , I will just state a couple of facts then shut down anything I have further to say on this subject. The Ukraine has a population of 41.46 million which represents o.66 % of the worlds population. The community forms the largest single Russian Diaspora of 17.3% or 8, 334,100 ethnic Russians declaring Russian ethnicity. 50 % of the population by western standards are poor. The average wage is $743 per month. Cheers JS
