Listening to BBC World Service this morning there was a lovely quote on the news at 4 a.m. where they interviewed some people in the street in Helsinki and one quote was they should straighten the borders why should Helsinki have the two most dangerous people in the world meeting there

If I recall we had a PM here in Oz who put his arm around the Queen. So much for protocol

what is a country ?? its a business the more prosperous the business the more you prosper in your country .Mr trump is a business man he is far from a fool he does things the American way thinking everything is bigger than anyone else's that's their way of mindset? the press is doing its best to put the boot in on him maybe the press has got to much power? can someone tell me what he is doing wrong? more people at work economy is prospering he is meeting world leaders in the name of peace which brings it back to business Korea must cost billions every year yet there is no war there income of the USA saved and spent on its own land half the world expects the USA to pick up the tab for NATO he may not be the best politician on the planet but he has not started any wars no one has lost their lives through a conflict that he started he is picking up the pieces from years of the old guard in America all that are now running scared because he is dragging them away from the trough they have feed on for years? his diplomacy might be called into question he is a ruthless business man and I my own opinion can be trusted the press will see to that who doesn't put their foot in it now and again he often does but admits it he is a fast talker but I don't think a liar at all? just my view hard hat ready? jp

    Are you totally mad sir?
That is the most sensible comment for a long time on BREXIT.
But you speak of politicians using what little brain power they have, common sense does not meet with their protocol.

John #223, you are so right on that.
Any country worthy of doing any form of business should indeed be run as a business.
But I would go further, no gov of any kind should be involved in the ownership, management or control of any industry be it a corporation or a utility.
That should be left to business to deal with, the gov make the rules under which business operates, for them to be involved would raise a conflict of interest.

Take money away from the gov, give it to a non political body to administrate and see how better it would be used.

But like Rob said, this is the stuff of fairy tales.

As a Londoner I ,and many others feel saddened at the protests demonstrated by mainly militant leftwing groups in our city. Yes,we all have the freedom to protest peacefully ,and in the main they were, but what vitriolic hate they showed to a visiting U.S.president.They made it a personal vendetta against a man who was elected by the American people to serve them, our country's greatest ally, and he was treated with such disdain and contempt, and they were virtually given the go ahead to do so,flying their Baby Trump balloon by our pitiful Lord Mayor of London ,who of course has self serving interests in supporting his mainly ethnic friends, who seem to be becoming more racist than so-called racists ever were.

Shameful to see our Labour party leader there, but then no surprise really, amongst all those communist supporters ,and very sad to see little children and toddlers 'marching with Mummy' ,and daubed in hate warpaint slogans and waving Unwelcome banners. What on earth do they know at that age, more importantly we can only assume what they are being indoctrinated. A close up of the face of one child marching seemed to reveal to me the knowing- too- much eyes of a twenty-five year old already. Sad sad.
And where were they all when the Saudi Arabian prince visited,or the Turkish leader,or for the Chinese visit?
And to me it says it all about the demonstrators when, for one example, there was a 'Southall Black Sisters,Bloody Good Periods' group marching, which apparently promotes free female sanitary items for refugee women. I truly despair for the human race now. I wonder if any of our political parties have contributed anything towards that ,I would not be surprised at all.

So yes I am ashamed, not at the US President but at my countrymen and I sincerely apologise to the American people.
