I would stand to be corrected by somebody who knows a lot better than I do but I believe spitting at someone is an assault so let's see the footballer in the dock for assult and the girls father in the dock for using a mobile phone whilst driving .
We are too soft on offenders
If it had been a Liverpool or Man Utd fan (Joe Scouse or Paddy Manc )it would not get a mention. But a Man Utd fan decided to give Carragher a hard time, targeted, him, egging him on , with his 14 year old daughter in the car. So you have a banter 2-1 2-1 2-1 2-1, would appear he was looking for a reaction. Obviously no thoughts of safety for his family, who would be using a mobile phone while driving? Hopefully the police will take a look at the video footage and take appropriate action. Yes Jamie should have ignored the guy, perhaps a better course of action would have been to pull over and just let the guy carry on down the road.
But the media will keep at it until they destroy a football legend because of one daft 2 or 3 second incident and 25 years in the game will go down the toilet. Carragher is a man who played for the club he loved, he loves his city is a good family man. The scary bit is the dads behaviour, I would NEVER behave like this with kids in the car.
The fella shows no concern for his daughter at all.
The only one I feel sorry for is the young girl in the car.
In a video, the father can be seen winding down his window and goading Carragher, despite his daughter saying "stop it".
The father then laughs, as his daughter complains: "He spat on me."

Yes as expected the Sun toilet paper are interviewing the likes of Vinny Jones who is absolutely disgusted and is stating if he had done that to my daughter I would ram him off the road and beat the living day lights out of him.
This and other trash papers have got the scent now and will hound Carragher out of a job.
Cannot defend what Carra did, but all because of an over excited fan who put himself and his family at risk for a 20 second sound bite. Would not be surprised if the father is not on Morning TV saying how this incident has left his daughter traumatized and she now needs counselling.
So who is at fault? who antagonised who into a situation that the media will feed on?
Carra has said yes he was wrong and should have not reacted in the way he did. It will end up costing Cara his job. Daddy will feed on this down the pub for a few weeks.
We had a case here couple of years ago where a footy player of the coal color was called a monkey by a young girl.
She had called out from the stands at a match where there were a few thousand spectators.
He claims he heard her say it and was offended.
The girl at the time was only about 10 but made an example of but the media, footy club and others.
But as she said, the term had been used before when someone mucking around had been told not to act like a monkey so saw no harm in it.
Her punishment was far in excess of any handed out to a sportsman for far bigger crimes than this.
That is shocking, her parents should have taught her better. NO EXCUSE.

At the end of the day how these things get reported with social media and the press waiting to pull down any celebrity like a pack of baying wolves if you're in that celebrity Status I think you've got to be constantly on your guard and all we had to do was keeping window up and ignore it .
