Just a suggestion here as I don't know too much about the Lagging side ,but here in Blackheath we just put some Thick Rubber Hosing (Heavy Duty) slit down the side to make the opening and slide it over the Water Pipe
Works like a charm/

That thick rubber lagging is ideal also sometimes you can't get to the pipe with hot water and a hair dryer will do it
You would think that knowing how conditions in UK can get something better would have been devised by now.
Or is this a case of something that will go wrong so keep the business going?
Or am I just being a bit skeptical?
Just freed the condensation pipe, it was frozen solid.

B&Q sell the real lagging for water pipes. very effective.

THAT MEANS there should be an air gap , before the pipe enters the drain , so you should not connect to under sink waste
Mine is connected to the discharge pipe of the washing macine.
