    Default South African pollution disaster

South Africa's beaches for around 1200 miles around Durban are suffering massive pollution from tiny clear plastic nodules that are used to manufacture plastic products. The 40 tons of this plastic come from a container lost overboard from a MSC container vessel in a storm that hit Durban some months ago, causing vessels in the harbour to break adrift and crash into each other. A massive clean up is in place but on every tide more of this tiny pieces of plastic are washed up onto the previously cleaned beaches. The head of the South African marine department says that this is an even worst marine pollution disaster than a massive crude oil spillage.

There have been a numb er of such spillages in other parts of the world.
Such plastics are almost impossible to clean up.
They do so much damage to the environment and wild life, there must be a better way to manage the movement of this stuff.

When we had our two pubs in Kent we would often go there on our one day a week off.
Remember as a young lad going with the family there for summer holidays.
Wonder if Dream world is still there?
