TV Movie Channel
On Freeview channel 81 there is a station that broadcasts old B&W movies, it is called Talking Pictures TV, in my opinion it is very good.
It has been broadcasting for two years and has received two complaints, the latest for calling an Arab a word riming with Log.
Ofcom has called the station owners to discuss the complaints and could lose its licence over the latest complaint.
The Movies were made ina different era, where words were quite common to describe someone or races, but are considered non PC these days.
Compare the words with some of the trash the BBC so called comics dish out and they get away with it, makes you wonder.
The snowflake society is live and well.

Re: TV Movie Channel
When I was in India many years ago,the Dock workers, who worked in the Government owned Docks only wore a Dhoti, no pockets to keep a pass in to enter the Dockyards, So they had W.O.G. stamped on the back of their hands.
They were very proud to be a W.O.G. A Worker OF Government. Sometimes W.O.G.S...................
Worker On Government Service.
That is where it came from
But the PC Know it alls thought it meant something derogatory.

Re: TV Movie Channel
When I was in Hoylake a couple of years ago. I was out for a walk along the Prom and there were a group of young lads painting ??? the benches along the prom. They had Hi Viz vests on and on the back was stencilled Community Payback. I did think they were on their holidays though certainly could have done with a Bosun to point out the holidays they were leaving in the paint work.

Re: TV Movie Channel
No chance seeing that prog on TV Terry. Apparently there are complaints about Dads Army, not enough women in the series.
