    Asthma is a big problem here in Oz, or so we are told.

    An interesting article in the "Lancet' some years ago put a new slant on it.

    The claim was that many who go to the GP with what may well be only hay fever are told they are Asthmatic and put on Ventolin.
    They then become addicted to it unable to live without it.

    But as with all medical stories there may well be another answer.

    got ventolin years ago,,was using 10 times a day,,the nurse said you do not need to use it as much,,,it was like a novelty,,,,i stopped altogether

    Agreed ! There seems to be a need by several posters to comment on any and every topic without having a clue what they are talking about. I have heard it referred to in the spoken tense as verbal diarrhea. They just don't know when to stop.
