Re: A general Question
Lets not forget what the history books tell us in past years when the world gets itself in turmoil and heaven knows things are getting worse by the day, And populations are getting out of control { To many people on the planet } We the world would average a world war every 50 years as in the case of the first two, That is not an option since to many countries around the world have Nuclear weapons, It will only take one lunatic like pot belly Kim Jong-un to strike lets say the small U.S, Island of Guam, Or carry on launching them over Japan with or without war heads attached to spark fury and Armageddon could become reality the way i see it its in the hands of the Chinese to stop this bloody idiot playing with fire, Because although we all realize world leaders included there will be no winner, Does this idiot want North Korea and most of the peninsula wiped of the map because sooner or later some think will crack and its good night Vienna for millions of people. I honestly thought there would have been a Military coup in North Korea before now and that little Mr pastry shot to pieces but its looking less likely............ But as i posted why worry its out of our hands the powers in charge of the button have your life in there hands. Terry.

Re: A general Question
Article in our paper here today about NK.
It was claimed by this man, who said he escaped from there, that the north of NK is in a state of starvation with no food for the people.
Daily there ae executions with as many as 20 at a time.
Anyone who utters even one word against Rocket man is for the chop.

Re: A general Question
As a general query and as. North Korea is on every ones lips these days. Has anyone noticed how in the case of NK. When the media get into the act, they all tend to make a bean feast out of it. I watch the various discussions on it and I get the impression that apart from given out the news which most assume to be correct, they go further than this and emphasise the actions of NK by shown film of rockets taken off from NK as though it was happening there and then, these are mostly old library pictures taken many moons ago, but they mean to the average watcher that they are sitting watching rockets heading in their direction. I beleive Trumps declaration about the Phoney Press we had another name for it, the second one being stirrer. JWS

Re: A general Question
Too true JS
just like many other News Headlines the Media always seem to find a way to Ramp it up so that they are in the Limelight so to speak!
But I suppose that's their jobs to attract as much attention as they can,its like a War between all the various News Media to see who can outlay the best sort of coverage and Stories to attract the biggest amount of Viewers!

Re: A general Question
Hi John S
Do we have reporters with any common sense? They are flat out saying that Haircut is mad and willing to drop A bombs on anyone, yet they are reporting from South Korea, if it was me I would be asking for the job of reporting from Mexico city; it would be much safer.
Cheers Des

Re: A general Question
If there is aggravation and acceleration of animositys the media will be responsible for a lot of it. They always are. The old wartime saying of loose lips sink ships was quite apt. However in those days seemed to be a different aspect to life, and most played by the rule book. Today there is very little discipiiline in most walks of life. Self discipline and morals you can just about toss out of the window. The biggest crime as youngsters was apple orchard raiding and smoking behind the bike shed. Today they are on ice and go out and rape someone grandmother and get a slap on the wrist. Just watch the twisted minds in a few years when kids are brought up in same sexed households. Not all. Gays are not what they are made out to be. You still have the paedophiles and weirdos the same as the others. Everyone just about believes any tripe put out ...climate change for example ...if it. Does exist the main cause would be over population. Maybe a decimation of the worlds population may be the answer and always has been. So nature is working it's own way in controlling. No one else seems to be able to. Cheers JWS

Re: A general Question
We seem as mankind to swallow anything that social media and the press churn out , I find it hard to understand why America needs to read Presidential Tweets , why facebook is regarded as the truth . Personally I find the " News " all hard to believe , there is so much conspiracy theory that I switch off to most of what I am told

Re: A general Question
I think Trump got it in one when he called it 'Fake news', which in may cases is the truth.
The media will hang on one word and turn it into a world war drama.

Re: A general Question
Your Right old chum. I am reading personal accounts from ww1 and it is quite sad. As an ex serviceman and "Vindi " boy, I find it hard to believe that so many people went to their deaths, for their "Country ". I think the film ,"Oh what a lovely war " sums up the truth of it. You would think we would have learned after two world wars. Trouble is , if people join up and vow to "Fight for their country " there will always be wars. If soldiers refused to fight on both sides, there would not be wars. Let the politicians fight it out. Its all a big game to them but our politicos do not inspire me with confidence to fight for my country. Lets face it ,its not our country anymore these days.
