Hard hats

At our local indoor recycling plant, as soon as you pull onto the scales to be weighed, you are issued with a hard hat and vest. but as you back into the pile, one at a time, the front end loaders leave the area and you are alone to empty your vehicle. if it's the weekend, they will tell you not to worry to much about them as the safety inspectors don't work at the week ends.

Bloody politicians in them on some site or other telling the world how wonderful they are.

They bring the hat and vest into disrepute if you ask me.
I would never allow them to wear one on a site, just make sure the bricks on that load fall at the right time.

Oh so true, and by all accounts not that great a student.

well he wouldnt have to be bright to do the job ......office bound and the subs just flying in ...no competition ..just rattle a sabre now and then....and collect a gold plated pension along with house car fancy office working hours to suit ...wait a minute he cant be that dumb ...perhaps its his members letting him have it are the dummies ........no union man should be paid more than the average wage of his members.......

To be fair it is not just Union men that are straight out of Uni and into the office. It is happeneing all to often in many walks of life.
Take say the Police force , fast track to admin side of the force , never walked a beat in there life or be involved in solving a crime but suddenly they are assistant chief constable, the military is the same. Half the Generals or Admirals have never seen action or fired a shot in anger.
Or what qualifications would you think would or should be required to be Prime minister? let's face it David Cameron held only one job for 7 years, The future Prime Minister, David Cameron became Director of Corporate Affairs for Carlton from July 1994 to February 2001, his only venture into employment outside of the political world. Even Blair was not in the work place very long either.

lewis each one of the aformentioned by you can and will and have been found out ......you dont get an admirals or generals job without working your way up ...the police also can fast track but they also must spend time on day to day planning against fraud in industry and the putting together of cases yet to be tried etc ..as for the pollies they are a breed of there own ...the fools are the people who vote for them.....i have argued on this site before and believe also that any polly should not get more than the average wage .....exept the prime minister and his or her cabinet .....they should pay there own travel expenses ...we have to and there pensions should be again the countries average .......but i still maintain union bosses are the least worked more overpaid members of this society than even our overpaid underworked pollies.....so put that in your pipe and smoke it ...lol cappy

Well you may complain about the Unions in the UK , today France has decided to go on strike as they have decided they do not like Macrons labour law reforms. Let's see how this plays out.

The first hard hat I remember seeing was on a linesman in San Francisco. Our crew were really making fun of him so he taunted us to hit it with the monkey fist on our heaving line.
When he stood up rubbing his head, his hat was 20 feet behind him. Crew had good laugh. Bit different now, we would have been sued for billions.
