#50 Fouro Whenever I go back to Whitley Bay, I lived there from 1946 to 1991 excluding the lengthy times spent away, I go around with a sandwich board on saying anyone looking for Brian, name and address supplied for 5 pound. There have been quite a number of old crones come up waving fivers but know Brian would not have associated with such creatures so haven't taken their money. There you are Brian I wouldnt drop you in. Mary with the wooden leg Cappies concubine offered me 50 pounds but knew cappy would take it out of her wages. Cheers JWS

    morning capt kong.

I have just finished reading your tale for the second time, as I was laughing so much through the first, but the second time was even worse as I was able to anticipate your next move because of reading it once before,
what can I say only it brings a whole new meaning about keeping a fire watch,
and memories of the whoring and boozing in and out of ports of call.
I have not been to Whitby, although I have been to many of the north east coast ports, so I'm thinking of putting in there one day and I will look up the rex hotel
great story the wife has just asked me what I'm laughing at
    thanks for the memories.
    tom

    Hi Tom
It was Whitley Bay near the Tyne, Dry docks were at Walsend.

I heard recently the REX HOTEL was boarded up and closed. Probably got all the women still inside screaming.
    Glad you liked it.
    Cheers
    Brian
