Queen
The movie 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was today released here in Oz.
A very good movie, fantastic music, if you like that type, but it was not just the story of how 'Queen' came about.
This was the story of Freddy Mercury, a troubled man who eventually decided he was bi-sexual, as his one time fiancé told him, 'not your fault'
Much of the story was from details given by Brian May, and as the story progresses one comes to understand how within the man there was a struggle for identity.
Looking back at our times at sea, so many Gay persons on some ships, they too must have gone through the same issues, something maybe we never thought about.
Over time so many of them have been the victims of abuse, segregation from normal society, considered to be some form of freak.
This movie puts much of that into a better perspective, and any one who still considers such persons to be 'not right' should go and see it.
They may just learn something.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Re: Queen
I found when you talked to the gay guys at sea many were deeply troubled , I always thought the flamboyance many showed was a mask to hide their real selves behind
