First I've heard of it, but I doubt it. I'm sure both sides plus the organizers electronically sweep the area, for bugs, transmitters and so forth.

I've attended a small dinner as a guest of Ronald Reagan, and I was electronically swept and so was the room. Not taking that precaution partly caused the loss of the last presidential election to Romney. Who was having a supposedly off-the-cuff dinner with donors. he was bugged by a bartender and said something critical of "the forty-seven percent of voters that wouldn't vote for him anyway".

In something as critical as the debates, I would think all precautions would have been taken. The only thing they are allowed to bring, were index cards containing notes and the probably answers to the most likely questions or possible snide cracks by the opponent as their respective aides assumed would be asked or he/she would make.

I did notice Clinton was checking something quite often, and the announcer did say they were index cards. Trump didn't use them, but then he seemed totally unprepared.

The next day Trump was speaking to a crowd of supporters and denied even saying certain things he said the evening before.

I found the debate of interest in a few areas but on the whole a bit of a bore.

One point of interest the one on global warming, it appears that in most western nations it is the Labor/Socialist parties that are pushing this the most. I know you do not consider Clinton to be in that camp but she comes across on the issue as being there.

As to who won, that will depend on which side you prefer, but if the USA national broadcaster is like the one here in Oz, the ABC, it will be very biased.

Yes John you are right about bias. The major channels, ABC, NBC, and CBS certainly favor Clinton; however, (a) they do call on Trump's spokes person from time to time. (b) And they are equal opportunity sh@# stirrers if even the slightest bit of scandal pops-up. Fox news and two other popular cable channels are extremely biased in favor of Trump and give no quarter to Clinton or Obama.

The national newspaper USA Today has stated "That Donald Trump is unfit to be president of the USA." The new Trump Hotel in Washington DC. has kindly, though unaware of the 'dis-endorsing' of their boss, been giving the guests a complementary copy with their 'breakie.'

This is the first time in the newspapers 34 year history it has done so; previously, It has neither endorsed or dis-endorsed a political candidate.

Trump Hotel guests received a complimentary USA Today declaring Trump unfit for the presidency

Interesting bit today about Donald and his tax situation.

He si no more a tax chaet than either of the Clinton's. All make legal use of the USA tax regulations.
Each would have had their tax returns done by professional accountants not them selves.
If they can use the system then good on them. Tax avoidance is quite legal, that applies to most western countries.
I recall reading somewhere of the fortune the Clinton's made when Bill was at it, like all in high office they know where to get the best.

When I was at Grammar School ( ST Olaves, cnr Tooley St & Towerbridge Rd.) our english master brought into class the Times, Telegraph, Daily Express, Daily Herald, Daily Jane (Mirror) ,Guardian (i.e. The Manchester Guardian) and we analysed an article which was covered in each paper. Boy, were the different reports slanted by the ideologies different.
It was difficult to work out which was true and get an accurate picture of the story. Today, we have on such access to different views of the story. In Australia We have the Murdoch PRESS, Fairfax and voice of the Labour party the ABC. What chance have we got of getting a balance picture.???? Unless you can afford to pay for TV

Yes you are correct there is nothing illegal that Trump has done under the US tax code, but you are missing the point.

One, Trumps claim to fame is he is a great business man. What sort of business person loses $950,000,000. (that's almost a BILLION dollars) in one year? From running an airline; Trump air. From real estate; (his principal business claim to fame). From hotels, and finally from gambling casinos (has anybody seen the operators of the Crown and Anchor boards in the pig get wiped out).

Two, this loss is from his personal Tax filing. We still haven't seen his business filings.

Three. He has enjoyed all the protection and services that tax revenues provide, yet didn't pay one lousy dime in taxes for eighteen years, you try and get away with that. It's funny though, during the same eighteen years, illegal entrants to the US. paid eighteen billion in Federal and state taxes, sure many didn't, being paid under the table etc.. But, that number eighteen billion dollars is confirmed by the Department of Tax Revenue.

He aught to be ashamed of himself, instead of saying on national TV "That's because I'm smart," and then denying saying it the next day on US. national TV.

Have to rush, misses is making me go shopping...no time to proof read for typos etc..
