the funniest comedian I watched was Wandering Walter From Preston.He would only do standup and although was offered TV work refused it as he would lose his originality.I heard him once at a masonic do and hired him once at a dinner for clients.
Ken Goodwin and Norman Collier wereboth funny, and sadly no longer with us

What about Arthur Haines ( Haynes ? ) and that silly walk he did. David Nixon was not only a magician but also a good comedian -- I recall one programme were he is staying at a Hotel and the scene is set in his room. He is stood in front of the bathroom mirror having a shave and singing " Amazing Grace " at the top of his voice when there is a knock on his door -- he wanders across the room and opens the door -- it is the hotel maid delivering his breakfast --' thank you very much Grace' he says and takes the tray !!!!
