The way I see is that Euroland is encouraging migrants by aiding and abetting them to settle into Europe.We should be discouraging illegal migrants by returning them back to wherever they come from.

John in W.A. raised an interesting point when he mentioned the imprisonment of Japanese-Americans, and Japanese legal immigrants after Pearl Harbor. (Japanese tourists, and Consulate, and Ambassadorial staff were allowed to leave the U.S..)

From the past census 2010, 46 million claimed German heritage. German Americans are the largest ethnic group of Americans (if you divide Hispanics into Mexican-Americans, Cuban-Americans etc.). More than the number who traced roots to Ireland (33m) or England (25m).

The Japanese AMERICANS that were rounded up were given a few hours to pack a suitcase for each family member and were relocated for the duration in camps in the Mojave Desert in California. A large majority of them were second and third generation native born Americans, their ancestors being brought over, along with Chinese, to work on building the trans-continental railroad. They had their homes and personal property confiscated.

The young Nissie (second generation Americans) men volunteered for the Army (442nd Regimental Combat Team.), and performed in the European Theatre with great distinction. The 442nd had in total 14,000 men, who earned 9,486 Purple Hearts, (awarded for wounds received during combat), eight Presidential Unit Citations, and 23 were awarded The Congressional Medal of Honor (U.S. equivalent of the V.C. and equally as hard to get).

In the 1900s, a Congressional apology was issued and the survivors of the camps were awarded $20,000 each in compensation.

No penalization was given to German-Americans or Italian- Americans.

In WW2 in Bolton we had one Ice Cream manufacturer and seller, Mr Manfredi, he was Italian, Before the war he would come round to our street with a donkey and a two wheeled cart and a tub of ice cream.
In 1940 when Italy joined up with the Germans, Mr Manfredi was interned in a Camp with all the others in the Isle of Man. He actually looked like Adolf Hitler with his moustache and black hair.
I never saw Ice Cream for six years. After the war they were all released and Mr Manfredi returned to Bolton and started up again in Ice Cream. The business today is the largest around this part of Lancashire run by his son..
I met his son a couple of years ago and he was amazed that I had known his dad all those years, before he was born, after the war.

"Indians in America are increasingly prominent in tech companies, on Wall Street, and in government, particularly in the state department. Over 1% of the American population, over 3.3 million are "Asian Indians". Perhaps 150,000 arrive each year to study for higher education, and 90% of them stay permanently.

"On the usual measure of success they outstrip all other minorities, including Jewish-Americans. They are educated and rich. In 2012 some 42% held first or higher degrees, average family income was $100,000, roughly double that of white Americans. Over two thirds of them hold high-status jobs. They have done so well that Pakistan or Bangladesh like to call themselves Indian, hoping some of the stardust will rub off on them.

"The stereotype of Indians as keeping shops or running motels in their adopted country is thus outdated. An Internet Technology (I.T.) would be far more typical. Since the turn of the century America has slurped in highly skilled graduates as fast as India can produce them. [And from the rest of the world too]

"Some 30,000 Indians a year arrive in America to study, and many stay to work.

"Exporting all that talent could hurt India, which lacks skilled workers. Some 91,000 Indian people with phds are now living in the U.S.A.. This suggest that India is failing to create the right conditions to retain highfliers."



In today's environment it would be impossible for me to obtain a visa to enter the U.S. legally.

Prior to moving to South Carolina in 1997, we lived in Connecticut. We sold our house to an Indian couple, both were phds. and working for high-tech companies.

My next door neighbor had a fit when he found out. I told them, we had no choice, there is a Fair Housing Act that prohibits refusing sale on grounds of ethnicity or other prejudice.

In any case it couldn't happen to a nicer couple, they deliberately screwed the sale of our house when we first put it on the market.

We had a 1,400 sq. ft. basement recreation area, billiard room, sitting area/cards, and a gym. I knew they had been in there as they were friends of one of our renters. So I told them that the Indians had all ready received permission to put a toilet and shower down there and they were going to turn it into a dormitory for their family who were shortly arriving from India...I thought they were going to have heart attacks....He, He. "Don't get mad, get even."

The UK national debt is just over 1.5 Trillion Pounds and increasing at about 2 Billion pounds a week. The annual interest paid on it is about 43 billion pounds. That is close to 5 million pounds an hour. The average interest rate works out at about 2.9 per cent. JS

One thing interests me, Britain is on the verge of bankruptcy, as is Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, the others in Europe are struggling,
don't know about Germany, America is just holding its head above water as is all the South American countries, Japan is struggling as is the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Pakistan, they are all in dept to WHO? Someone is holding all those chits, I know that China has something like $30 trillion US collateral
And though they say that Russia is in trouble they don't look it, the Americans have to go there shopping for their Rockets otherwise they're space programs and putting spy satellites is down the Swany.
$Billions are moved around the world from country to country in order to make a profit but for WHO? Some group must be responsible, I know; but it is nasty since the war to say those things as certain people seem to think they were the only ones who suffered.

Des I read some article somewhere sometime ago and cant now recall, but as regards the USA there were 3 persons with no public profile as such but were responsible for most of the wealth of the USA. It is above the average intelligence to understand. Most people think that when the US goes into recession they just print more money until they come out of it. Our generation were brought up to believe that all outstanding debts had to be covered by the Gold reserves of the country, but as most of this was sold off by previous governments this cannot be true, Therefore the most obvious answer is that notes are held by the Banks of the various debts owing. Therefore who owns the banks. Is way above my head and most others. Money was invented by banks so many years ago and are just promissory notes, valueless in their own right as just bits of paper, and promise to pay the bearer the same as any shares held. The banks in Zurich seem to hold the best part of the world at the moment in the palm of their hand and is probably them who will ultimately decide on the fate of Greece. Remember it was Hitlers arguments of Germany being held to Ransom by the Jewish bankers that was part of his excuse for going to war, it may have been the Bankers but more than likely they were not Jewish. Which brings to my mind the total unneccessary need to belong to a European Parliament who are ultimately going to have the backing of the Bankers of Zurich which is what they want as to be able to cut out London as seen by most of the world to be the heart of the monetary system. If you vote to stay in the EU the banking system will immediately henceforth be Europe who will have all the promisory notes of countries in debt. There are those who make a living by studying such, I am not one of them, but do know to the best of my knowledge will be very detrimental to Britain to stay in the EU on this reason alone, apart from all the others loss of sovereignity etc etc and could go along with etcs all day. The other side of the propaganda sheet will be the advantages of staying in, which will be made up to frighten and brow beat the man in the street. As soon as the UK money changes stand by for other changes as well. Whatever politician drew the line at that has giving the UK breathing space and hope the same man in the street uses and puts his country first and foremost. JS
