Re: Name change
This has been my local since 1961 it will always be the Doric no matter what name they want to give it.We got the odd seamen in there in recent years since Seaforth Container Base was built, before the new dock it was far to far away from any docks for any seamen to frequent. As we have talked about pubs closing down the Doric died on it's feet in recent years, this was a pub that was busy at all times,it was a family pub of 3 generations,2 generations have since died and the 3rd generation moved on.It will be interesting to see how long this place last's,introducing real ales, nobody interested in that around here.Pint more that £2.30 a pint,Waterloo less that a mile away £2.00 a pint.
Regards.

Re: Name change
Just been for my daily paper (shop is opposite pub)on their advert outside "dog friendly"nothing about "child friendly" I don't mind dogs but kids kicking footballs, riding tricycles and scooters and generally running riot should not be allowed in pubs.In recent times here the pub wouldn't of existed without the kids because it was mainly their mothers that was spending the money. If these new owners have a no children policy I'm afraid their take will be down.
