John I don't think that would be the grandmother I think maybe it would be the old Iris which was given the title Royal for services rendered during WW1.

Scouser's and ex-pat scousers will remember the Royal Iris for the river cruises that we did aboard her in the 50's.Many works social clubs and various other people would organise the cruiser's and we all took the opportunity of obtaining a ticket.The cruise went from the Pier Head out to the bar and back just in time to catch the last bus or the overhead railway home.A band or two to dance to, great memories and what a shame to see the state that she is in now.
