    Default Amazing

This is an intersection in Meskel Square in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It doesn’t have any stop lights to direct traffic so traffic just… well, I don’t know what you’d call it. They figure it out. Somehow!

Reminds me a wee bit of the Circle around the Arc de Triumph but not nearly as bad!

Sent to me by Dennis! Thanks mate!
    Amazing!

Could do with a Magic Roundabout:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_JQDfuMZi0&feature=kp

The Magic Roundabout in Swindon, England was constructed in 1972 and consists of five mini-roundabouts arranged around a sixth central, anti-clockwise roundabout. It is located near the County Ground, home of Swindon Town F.C. Its name comes from the popular children's television series The Magic Roundabout. In 2009 it was voted the fourth scariest junction in Britain, in a poll by Britannia Rescue.

That round about reminds me of one in Karachi where the dock road joined the main town route. The dock road had been modernised and was wide with dual carriage way, not that anyone took any notice of the lane markings. In addition to the hundreds of old Bedford trucks spewing stinking fumes out along with hundreds of small Japanese vans etc. there were horse and donkey drawn carts and not one driver took a blind bit of notice to any of the posted directional signs, just driving like mad men into any space in any direction that was available. In the middle of it all there was a traffic policeman in uniform and white gloves giving hand signals to direct the traffic, not that any driver took any notice of his directions. It must have been the most dangerous job for a policeman in the whole of Karachi. After being driven round for an hour by the agent my nerves were so shattered and my leg muscles so tensed from pressing the non existent brake pedal on the passenger side, that I had to go and lie down in a darkened room once I got back on board.

#4 Having lived there for nearly four years(70's) everyday was an adventure, to stay safe always make sure you either stop on a green light or go very slowly or stay in the lee of a truck, a good place to hone your driving skills.

The roundabout here on the island at Newport, known locally as Rubiks roundabout, nice to sit on the verandah of an adjacent pub with a pint, and watch all the holiday makers trying to find their way round it, and exit at the correct point KT

There is one in Swindon like the one in Hemel Hempstead, called the Magic Roundabout. I just treated it as a normal Roundabout.Had no problem at all.
