A navigation question.

The modern answer is use the GPS , and stop mesing about with old fashioned compasses , I expect a modern navigator would use a b=navigation computer and let it navigate iutself

Brian your not the only one who dreams about ships. I quite often see people long time gone. Maybe there is something in the hereafter. I keep an open mind on it. Over the years have had a few wierd experiences of the occult or whatever it is called. So did some of the family during the war. Beleive mentioned in a post about a person banging on the door and the family all heard this voice shouting and thought it was my dads brother, 5 people thought the same and no one there. It was the week Singapore fell and he was MIA for 5 years before the war office said he was dead. Strange things do happen. It didnt help matters that my grandmother was a bit of a medium also. Could be because we all spend a lot of time on this ship, which opens our minds to others we have sailed on and the crews there-on, as I'm often on a voyage in my subconcious to somewhere and people I've known afloat and ashore.

I lay awake again last night, cannot sleep, not dreaming of the Pole, there are enough bleddy Poles in Bolton now with their shops everywhere.. it is the real Pole.
John p is right maybe the Pole Dancers in the P&W would take my mind off it.

I cannot get past the North Pole.
No Land , No Ice. a strait line from Fanning Island in the Pacific on the Date Line, I steer 360`T North,
I get to the geographical North Pole, It should be Course 180`T to London on the Greenwich Meridian. Simple.
NOW at the North Pole I alter course on the wheel to 180`T and I find myself on a reciprical course all the way back to Fanning Island.
How do I get past that bleddy North Pole.
Brian, who is going to say Stuff the Medication go back on the whisky.

Can't recall directing my point in any direction lateley John, apart from south-was that a deliberate misspelling of 'direrection'? Maybe a trip (trip)? downstairs in the P&W might just resolve my ed.

Try and miss the light bulb in case you get a shock. Remember one time home years ago tried to get in the wardrobe, before the wife steered me back in the direction of the bed. A mate of mine had the habit of forgetting where he was and doing it over the top banister of the stairs, didnt go down too well with his wife, she should have left the bedroom window open for him Cheers John S
