    Default Discharge books

I have just been browsing through Ebay and found discharge books, tickets etc. for sale. Presumably once belonging to father & son.

Samuel George Hemming R172435 A.B. Harris Drive, Liverpool 21
This book is from the 40's & contains fingerprints of both hands plus signature. Among the ships listed is San Venancio 1942, which I have seen mentioned on this site. There is also his union book, ration cards, A.B.'s ticket & U.S. shore pass.

George Albert Hemming R/O R738811 Alberts Road, Liverpool 20. From 60's & 70's, mostly Blue Funnel & Glen Line.

There must be an interest in M.N. memorabilia the bidding is £89 with one day to go.

I guess that is one way for an illegal to get an identity.

In the back of my first one has a record of all NHI contributions so is worth keeping in case they try and stop the pension. JS

There must be someone somewhere holding the record of Dead Reckonings in their book. That would probably be worth a few quid to some museum. JS

I wonder who bought those books, what is he going to do with them???
Is he an illegal who wants an identity? maybe he should be investigated for his reasons of spending £90 for a couple of discharge books that have no relevence only to a family relative.
Maybe I am a suspicious berstered but I would like to know. the same with Passports will we see them on Ebay next?? I have a few.
    Cheers
    Brian.

My Discharge Book, which I still have, Has a DR for General Conduct, after signing off in Moji, Japan on Christmas Eve 1950.

Any idea how much it might bring? Wouldn't part with it anyway. Eric
