    Default Any Memories.

Did you ever get a raw deal. Remember swapping movies with another Harrison boat in the Windies, We gave them three all good quality movies names elude me, They sent us 2 Spaghetti westerns. The voices had about a 3 minute delay in translation, And a Japanese war movie bloody hell sub titles, This Jap army Sergeant gave this prvt jap soldier a speech shouting for about 10 minutes, Then it popped up on the screen {you're as thick as 2 short planks} Some of them were bloody awful.

    Hi Terry
The only time I had movies on a ship was on the RFA Wave Baron, always seemed weird to me to be sitting out on deck in the Indian Ocean watching John Wayne it was a bit surreal to say the least.
When I was on the BTC tankers they may have thought we would light up a cigarette without thinking.
I was on the Harperly but we didn't have any movies .
45 Degrees in Aus at the moment roasting everything in sight, down here in Cooma a delightful 35, don't know what it's like in the Indian Ocean.

    Cheers Des

Sitting on deck in the middle of the Indian Ocean wqatching a movie with a sheet as the screen. Depending on whic side of the sheet you sat depended on how you saw the movie, great fun

#3 only one tanker with movies ........but always had plenty comedy and comedians aboard......remember a sos running out of the focsle on turn to in the morning with a lump of cloth round his waist as a skirt and a headsquare on ......all started to chase him but not catch ....they were like schoolboys the cook and stewards the firemen all joining in ...we nearly bust a gut laughing the old man laughed so loud he nearly had a wobbly ....some crowds could have made a movie....I think this was if you had a crew from the same town ......on my first trip all from soth shields it was like family ...some happy some grumpy some drunks some punchers but just like a family
