During the building of the barrier I was employed by the catering company feeding the workers. A few of us were taken by barge to see how it was being done, the building of the Cofferdams was quite amazing the way it all came together. It is a great piece of engineering showing how good engineer swere back in the 60's and 70's.
What is even more amazing is the sensible and logical explanation that they would need that barrier , because they certainly needed it just recently, even the govt are recognising the basic facts that there are going to be more severe weather Events .
#1... John ...1991 was my last winter in the North Sea. I don't miss it one bit. Still feel sorry however for those still working in bad weather as one gets there. Cheers John Sabourn
