Re: Give a thought
Cappy, these days teenage boys (from recent news articles) would be claiming they had been traumatised by the sight of a naked woman and their parents would be suing the school under the yuman rites act, where-as in our day it's what we prayed for, but unlike you Cappy, alas we were not so lucky!

We had a maths teacher by the name of Mr. Bean, yes that was his name a little Indian man no more than about 5 foot 4 wringing wet. He carruied a small attache case in which was his lunch, curry sandwiches maybe, and four implimenst of punishment and used according to the misdemeanor.
The slipper across the rear for minor crimes, the belt across the rear for more serious crimes. The ruyler across the knucles if you were realy bad, but the worst of all the blackborad peg across the back of the hand. How he was never charged with child molestation I do not know.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Ref. my post about getting the cane. Should have stipulated from a female teacher, would also have been nice if she had been dressed in leather. Ref. youngsters of my day 11 year olds one joke I can remember at the moment," Whats the definition of a pregnant puff" answer " A puff who fell down and got up himself". Maybe in our days the youngsters weren't as green as was made out. John Sabourn

Re: Give a thought
See in the news tonight a big ring of would be child molesters have been rounded up. Originated in Canada. This proves that the internet is being watched by government departments, which most have realized for years. These people who have an unhealthy passion for children cannot be very bright to not know this. Hope they get the proper punishment and not a slap on the wrist. John Sabourn

Re: Give a thought
Hi shipmates, wars are part of our way of life to kill each other over stupid things, too many to list? check out history ref wars. the ones who fall are soon forgotten, but it is a main industry that keeps thousands in work. war is good for business. Peace never lasts and has its own faults, when people start to live together in peace and friendship? The powerful nations get very worried it is a sick world run by greedy gun-runners.

Re: Give a thought
War and it's Weaponry and the electronics that goes with it are a major employer here in the area around Portsmouth , not as big as it was , but people's livelihoods depend on someone else's death and destruction . I have rightly or Wrongly thought as the cause of War as someone's greed , Argentina wanting the Falklands and the Oil reserves they are sat on , G.W.Bush wanting Iraq's Oil . Communists wanting to rule Vietnam , Hitler wanting to be the World Leader , We watch the young men die to satisfy the greed of others for Wealth and Power . I wonder if the Syrian ( So Called ) Rebels are truely fighting for Freedom from Assad , or their chance to be in charge .
