But as i said before, its very obvious that they are giving each other a hand, climbing aboard the trains and the boats, so they do have a community spirit!! KT

Obviously no OHS in Bagladesh, if there was the autorities would add steps or ladders to the side of the trains. People could get hurt climbing on the way they do.

Hi tony , it looked as tho` no one had a ticket on that one,
I sure would not like to be the Ticket collector on that train. You would have to be fit climbing up and down each carriage to check each ticket.
    Cheers
    Brian.

Hi Brian i just checked up on that train i was on, it was the Tamil Nadu Express 22.30 from Delhi ,arrive Chennai 2 nights later. i travelled AC2 Class, thats one down from the top, all air con, kitchen car, like an oven when you walk through that one , the smell of curry WOW ! Its a Corridor Train, they constantly walk up and down the train selling cooked snacks, and of course CHAI CHAI ! Never stops, the Express Trains are at least 16 coaches long. when you stop at a station swarms of vendors selling Chai and Snacks, then a beggar will get on do the length of the train and get off at the next station, its only Suburban Trains that they travel on the roof, long distance Trains are too fast, i was on a Ferry like that in Goa, once on it was impossible to get off if you wanted to. no room to move, was like being a vertical Sardine. a real crazy country, but the Railway System is the biggest in the World also the Worlds biggest single Employer, it is an extremely efficient Railway System,
